did not get much done on the Chief this week. but do have some pretty neat news.  Friday afternoon Linda and I ran to Denver to Woodys Wheel Works, picked up the three wheels that they laced up. aluminum 19″ rims with larger stainless spokes laced and trued to the hubs.  Thank you Guys for all the help. Saturday we took the 29 Jd to Apex Sports in Colo. Springs for there open house. we were able to talk with folks about this Septembers Cannonball. family owned shop for Many years and Great folks.

now for some unbelievable (crap turned into ice cream) to Eric this transformation is probably just old hat, but to me its unreal what he has done.  the amount of rust and beat up this frame, tins and tanks had going on. Eric has truly made this old girl BEAUTIFUL. I hope she runs half as good as she s gonna look. I don’t know how to thank you for your time, materials and talents. I am in all with what you have pulled off.  THANK YOU……………

  1. It is a step back in time. Can’t wait to hear what the time machine sounds like. Good vision and great work Mr.Chief mechanic. Won’t be long now.

    Gary and Linda,

Looks great–wish that we were closer and could have made your “open shop” gathering. We too hope that the machine runs as good as it looks. I think that you have put just as much “do it right” time/skill into the deal as any of your suppliers, so it certainly should turn out well. Careful preparation/attention to detail is what gave success to you and the other perfect score riders on the previous two runs. That and “providence,” (a lot more personal than luck). Keep with it. Ron (and Dixie).
